Crazy Horse / Pull-up leather

"Crazy horse" leather, also known as saddle leather or distressed leather, is a type of leather that has been treated with special oils and waxes to create a unique, rugged appearance. It is characterized by its rich, natural tones and its ability to develop a distinct patina over time with use and wear. The name "crazy horse" comes from the idea that the leather's surface can be scratched or rubbed, similar to the way a horse's hair can be brushed in different directions, resulting in changes to its appearance. Despite its name, crazy horse leather does not actually come from horses; it is typically made from cowhide.

Pull-up leather, on the other hand, is a type of leather that has been treated with oils and waxes during the tanning process. When the leather is pulled or stretched, these oils and waxes migrate, causing the color to lighten in those areas. This characteristic creates a unique "pull-up" effect, where the leather changes color and develops a rich, vintage appearance when bent or folded. Pull-up leather is prized for its natural beauty, as well as its ability to develop a distinctive patina over time. It is commonly used in high-quality leather goods such as bags, wallets, and belts.
